Nevada Gambling Commission Debates New Casino Gaming Device
A newly developed casino gaming hand-held mobile device is awaiting Nevada gambling regulators’ approval. The device would allow casino gaming customers to play their favorite games in areas other than the casino floor.
This device was declared legal by Nevada’s Governor Kenny Guinn, and now awaits final approval by the Gaming Control Board. The state put the following limits on the casino gaming device’s use: it will be legal only in the public areas of casinos that have 100 or more slot machines and offer at least one more game. The device will be banned in hotel rooms and other private areas.
The proposed legalization of these casino gaming devices will be discussed by the State Gaming Control Board. One big concern is that people will use the devices in restricted areas. The companies that make the device, however, say that they can build it in such a way that it will automatically turn off in areas in which its use is illegal.
The casino gaming device is an adaptation of a mobile bond-trading device used by financial service companies such as Cantor Fitzgerald.
A variety of developers have stepped up to compete for a contract to manufacture the casino gaming advice, should it be permitted by the regulatory board.
